Welcome to the November 2020 update from the Interactr Development team.

These updates are to keep our users in the loop with what changes have been made, what is being worked on, and some sneak peek screenshots of future updates in the pipeline.

For the last few months now everyone in the team has been focused on the 2.0 update and we’re now ready to look at getting beta users in.

How to access the Beta

We’re looking for users who can help us test out the Beta version of interactr 2.0 over the next few weeks. It’s important we get a variety of users who use the app in different ways, and on different platforms.

Should you want to be considered for the beta can you please email chris@interactr.io and include how much you currently use interactr and what you use it for.

It would also be helpful to know what browser and operating system you use (Mac/Windows, Safari / Chrome etc). Also, please let us know what phone you will be using to preview projects on mobile.

This should help us get a wide variety of testing done before we deploy the update.

We will be slowly drip-feeding users into the app over the next few weeks so you may not get a reply straight away.

When will the Beta be Live?

Provided everything goes well with the beta we plan to release this version of the app at the start of January.

Code Updates This Month

  • Share page now shows a 404 page if the project is published and then unpublished
  • Upgraded the inline text editor which has a much-improved UI
  • Added a zoom effect into thumbnails of the player
  • All-new controls and icons on the player
  • Player volume switched to a vertical slider
  • We deployed a fullscreen update but ultimately removed this after a few reports of issues on some non-mainstream mobile devices’ screen dimensions. We now plan to release this in 2.0 and will probably have a beta flag that allows users to enable and disable fullscreen.
  • On the player , the brand/logo thumbnail (top left) scales better now on portrait mode in mobile devices.
  • Fixed part were in the media library on interactr, if the video name is too long it vanished.

Moving forward

Moving forward into 2021 I’m going to be thinking a lot about how we can make these updates more information to all our users and how we can offer move value.

I’d like to hear your feedback on this so please comment below on anything you think we can add to the update next year.
